Cisgenic GM plants as safe or risky as transgenic GM plants

The report on the food and feed safety of cisgenic plant varieties from the Institute of Food Safety (RIKILT) has recently been sent to the Dutch Parliament.  From a food and feed safety perspective, the report concludes that there is no scientific basis for a general reduction of requirements for cisgenic plant varieties (compared to transgenic plant varieties). The report can be downloaded here. It might be interesting to compare the similarity of the arguments and conclusions in this report to those in the paper drafted by Schenkelaars Biotechnology Consultancy in commission of Greenpeace in 2006.
